Digital Media Portion: Shakespearean Twists
Overview:
After reading and adapting your scene of Romeo and Juliet, you will create a video acted by your group members (or actors you will cast), and then edit and share it on our class YouTube Channel. The first goal of our assignment is to collaborate using various Social Media Platforms. Edmodo, which will house our class lessons, should be used for class update and teacher correspondence. You will use Google Docs (See TO DO#1) to collaborate with your group on writing the script adaptation of your scene of Romeo and Juliet, you will then Storyboard your scenes (see TO DO #2) and upload them on Pinterest. You will then share with the class the "pin" on Edmodo and review based on peer feedback. Using Google Hangout (see To Do #3) you must meet with your group to rehearse lines and discuss "rehearsal" pre-production so that your actual rehearsals are effective and well planned. Next you will film your scene (see to do #4) and edit, then post them on the YouTube Channel (see to do#5). All Social Media Use must be followed as per the Social Media Policies as outlined on the Homepage of this site. All Teacher/Student interaction on the mentioned sites on this webpage have been approved by the Board of Education, Building Principal and Content Supervisor Please adhere to the policies as outlined, and if there are any concerns or issues that arise using social media, you are to contact me immediately via email with a description of incident or violation.
TO DO:
Any Social Media Platforms being used are in BOLD.

*Create a Google Doc with your Group members to begin creating your 2-column script. To begin a Google Doc, please log into your Gmail account (or create one). Go to Google Drive, then click “Create” on the left sidebar. Choose Document, and then go to Table and add two squares. Name the left box “Video” and the right box “Audio.” Please center those headers. (see example below). Use the TAB key to create another box for the first shot, and so on. Next, begin filling in your scene’s script details. The video portion must include Camera Shot compositions (ex, WS is Wide Shot) and camera movement or actor direction. Audio only include the music, sound effects or dialogue of that scene. All group members should log into the document and work on this collaboratively. Please share with instructors and classmates upon completion through the Edmodo platform, and revise based upon Peer/Instructor Feedback. Please review another groups' script and offer them feedback as well.

a. 3 Point Lighting (if available) or ensuring adequate lighting in room where filming will be taking place.
b. Blocking- Plan out your camera’s moves and your actor’s movements to ensure you are capturing the necessary action.X Axis or Rule of 180- Be sure not to break this rule as Screen action will be broken and the visuals will look confusing to the viewer. (refer to resource link above for definition).
c. Camera Shots & Moves- Be clear about what you want filmed, how you want the shot to look and describe those for your camera operator and add it to the video details in your script.
